What A Disciple Actually Is

Big idea — Discipleship is apprenticeship to Jesus — not church attendance.

Outcome — You can define a disciple in one sentence and audit your own life against it.

[ 5-Day Plan ]
  1. Day 1Read Part 1 of Becoming A Disciple. Write the one-sentence definition.
  2. Day 2Read Part 2. Underline every 'mark of a follower' you currently lack.
  3. Day 3Read From Shame To Sonship. Settle whose you are before what you do.
  4. Day 4Re-read your underlines. Pick the ONE mark you'll start practicing this month.
  5. Day 5Tell one person what you decided, and ask them to ask you about it in 7 days.
[ This Week's Practice ]

Write your one-sentence definition of a disciple on a card. Carry it in your wallet for 6 weeks.

[ Reflection Questions ]
  • — Where was I confusing belief with discipleship?
  • — What is the cost I've been avoiding?
  • — Who in my life is actually following Jesus — and what do they do that I don't?

Assured, Then Surrendered

Big idea — You can't follow Jesus from fear. You follow from settled sonship.

Outcome — You have rock-solid assurance of salvation and a 30-day plan for the first habits.

[ 5-Day Plan ]
  1. Day 1Read the Assurance section. Write down the Scriptures that settle it for you.
  2. Day 2Read Days 1–7 of the 30-Day plan. Begin Day 1 today.
  3. Day 3Continue the daily plan. Note any lie that resurfaces.
  4. Day 4Re-read assurance section any time doubt hits. Repeat the Scriptures aloud.
  5. Day 5Tell one person, 'I am a disciple of Jesus.' Out loud. In daylight.
[ This Week's Practice ]

Begin the 30-day plan and continue it through Weeks 3–6 of this course.

[ Reflection Questions ]
  • — What was I building my assurance on before — feelings, performance, or the Word?
  • — Which lie about my standing with God hits me most often?
  • — What changes when sonship is settled?

The Daily Walk — Word, Prayer, Witness

Big idea — Disciples are formed by daily, not dramatic, obedience.

Outcome — You have a working rhythm of Bible reading, prayer, and at least one witnessing conversation.

[ 5-Day Plan ]
  1. Day 1Read How To Read The Bible. Pick your plan. Start today.
  2. Day 2Read How To Pray. Pray the framework morning and night.
  3. Day 3Read Sharing Your Story. Draft the 60-second version.
  4. Day 4Pray the framework. Practice your 60-second version out loud.
  5. Day 5Share the 60-second version with one real person. Note what happened.
[ This Week's Practice ]

Lock in a 15-minute daily Word + prayer block at the same time each day.

[ Reflection Questions ]
  • — What's the biggest obstacle to a daily rhythm in my real schedule?
  • — What did I learn from praying the framework vs. winging it?
  • — What did sharing my story actually feel like?

Baptism, Public Allegiance, And The Body

Big idea — There is no private discipleship. You go public, you go under, you join a body.

Outcome — You've taken (or scheduled) baptism, and you can name the body you're committed to.

[ 5-Day Plan ]
  1. Day 1Read the Water Baptism Student Guide.
  2. Day 2If unbaptized, schedule it this week. If baptized, write the testimony of yours.
  3. Day 3Read Finding A Church. List 3 candidates near you.
  4. Day 4Visit or contact one. Bring questions from the guide.
  5. Day 5Make a 90-day commitment to one body. Tell a leader you're in.
[ This Week's Practice ]

Schedule baptism (or your renewal/witness) and commit to one local body in writing.

[ Reflection Questions ]
  • — What was I hiding from by avoiding public allegiance?
  • — What kind of body will actually form me, not just entertain me?
  • — Who in this body will know my real life?

Be A Witness — Wherever You Are

Big idea — Every disciple is a witness. Not every witness is a preacher — but every disciple is a witness.

Outcome — You have witnessed by word and action to at least three people this week.

[ 5-Day Plan ]
  1. Day 1Read Being A Witness — Journal intro. Name 5 people in your daily orbit.
  2. Day 2Pray for those 5 by name. Add one act of service for one of them.
  3. Day 3Have one intentional spiritual conversation. Log it in the journal.
  4. Day 4Sharpen your 5-minute story. Practice with one trusted believer.
  5. Day 5Share your story or the gospel with one of the 5. Log the outcome.
[ This Week's Practice ]

Begin a weekly 'witness log' — 3 conversations per week, logged for the next 90 days.

[ Reflection Questions ]
  • — What fear actually stops me from speaking?
  • — Where am I already a witness through action — and where am I silent?
  • — Whose face has God put in front of me this week?

Multiply — A Life With Jesus, For Life

Big idea — A disciple makes disciples. A church plants churches. Or it dies.

Outcome — You commit to discipling one person and you adopt a lifelong rhythm.

[ 5-Day Plan ]
  1. Day 1Read A Life With Jesus, For Life. Mark every long-game rhythm you don't yet have.
  2. Day 2Pick ONE person you'll begin discipling in the next 30 days. Text them today.
  3. Day 3Read the Church Blueprint and Rhythm Checklist. Audit your church (or your plan).
  4. Day 4Read the Teacher Guide intro. Plan Week 1 of leading someone through this course.
  5. Day 5Commit in writing: who you'll disciple, what body you're in, and your lifelong rhythm.
[ This Week's Practice ]

Schedule a Week 1 session with the person you'll disciple. Then claim your certificate.

[ Reflection Questions ]
  • — Who taught me? Who am I now responsible to teach?
  • — What rhythm do I need for the next 40 years, not the next 40 days?
  • — What changes today because I finished this?

[ Common Questions ]

Is the course really free?

Yes. All 8 guides and the certificate cost nothing. Ever.

How long does each week take?

About 15–30 minutes per day, 5 days a week. Built for normal life.

What if I miss a day?

Pick up where you left off. Discipleship is not a streak app.

Is the certificate legit?

It is a personal mark of completion — a printable testimony that you did the work. It is not an accredited degree.

Can I do this with a group?

Yes. The Teacher Guide (Week 6 resource) is built for exactly that.

What happens after the 6 weeks?

You start discipling someone else. That's the whole point.
